Katie Taylor advanced to her six straight AIBA World Women’s Elite Championships quarter-final since Russia 2005 at the 8th AIBA World Women’s Championships in Jeju, South Korea today.
The Bray woman, who is targeting a fifth successive title in Jeju, beat Finland’s Mira Potkonen on a unanimous decision.
She’ll now meet Russia’s Sofya Ochigava in the last-eight tomorrow in a rematch of the 2011 and 2012 European, World and Olympic finals, all of which Taylor won.
