Goodwins Signs Another Prospect: Andrew Joicey

Promoter/Manager Steve Goodwin has been a busy man of late and today reveals his latest signing – Light Welterweight Prospect Andrew Joicey.

Joicey hails from Hayes in Middlesex and was amateur at Dale Youth. Now being trained by Rod Julian at the ever expanding RJ’s Gym in Chingford, Joicey will be making his debut on the 16th May Goodwin show at York Hall which already features two Southern Area title bouts: Adam Dingsdale v Michael Devine (Lightweight) and Jamie Speight v Ian Bailey (Featherweight).

Joicey is known for his hard hitting style and promises to bring massive excitement to the professional ranks. Being 31 years of age, Goodwin knows that he will need to fast track Joicey and is prepared to do that.

Joicey is delighted to be turning pro, “I have always wanted to do it and I know I have left it late at 31 but I could not have signed with a better team. After speaking with many boxers they are flooding to sign with Steve and after meeting up with the whole team I can see why. The future is bright for me.”

Joicey continued “I aim to be winning a Southern Area title within 18 months and then we will see how far we can get to from there. The British title is a realistic goal and something I will be aiming for.”
