WBA Update: Oka Dethrones Reveco, Griffin To Ref Klitschko Fight

With a majority decision. Japan’s Kazuto Ioka won his third championship, defeating Argentina’s Juan Carlos Reveco, who defended for the ninth time his World Boxing Association flyweight title on Wednesday.

The Argentine had won 18 fights in a row after his first setback in 2007, by unanimous decision in France to Brahim Aslum.

The has New York Athletic Commission appointed Michael Griffin as the referee for the Wladimir Klitschko vs. Bryant Jennings title fight this Saturday April 25, at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Griffin will be accompanied by the American judges Max de Luca, Steve Wesifeld and Robin Wright.

The Ukrainian fighter defends his heavyweight championship of the World Boxing Association, who appointed Gilberto Jesús Mendoza as supervisor.

Klitschko (63-3, 53 KO) will also defend his IBF and WBO titles.

Jennings (19-0, 10 KO) is the WBA second rated contender.
