On Thursday night at the Orleans in Las Vegas, Top Rank put on a show that saw headliners Ulises Solis and Will Grigsby reprise their IBF Light Flyweight title contest from just over a year ago. Try as he might, Grigsby was no luckier in the rematch than in the first fight as Solis pounded the 36 former champion for eight rounds until the bout was stopped on the advice of Grigsby's corner. With the win, Solis, 23-1-2 (17), retains his belt for the third time and will no doubt be gunning for a unification bout. Grigsby drops to 18-4-1 (7).
Also on the bill, giant southpaw heavyweight prospect Tye Fields, 38-1 (34), won again, posting a wide points decision over twelve rounds against journeyman Kendrick Releford, 14-9-1 (5). Featherweight Jorge Solis, 32-0-2 (23), continued his unbeaten run with a fifth round stoppage over Fernando Omar Lizarraga, 9-4 (8). Cruiserweight Jonathan Banks, 14-0 (10) and middleweight Andy Lee, 7-0 (4), were also victorious.
