Opponents have been agreed for both Alsager welterweight Aaron Thomas and Burslem light-heavyweight Justin “Ritchie’ Jones. Both boxers will appear at Stoke’s Kings Hall on 24th February.

Thomas faces tough opposition in the shape of Sunderland’s Martin Marshall. Marshall gave a good account of himself when he last boxed at the Kings Hall; he put up a spirited performance and was narrowly beaten on points by local favourite Danny Johnston last November.

At 6’1” and with six wins under his belt to date, Marshall will present Thomas with his sternest test to date. Marshall was victorious in his last outing, beating Salford based Pole Thomas Mazurkiewicz by a single point last December. Thomas remains unbeaten in his two professional bouts so far.

Both Thomas and Marshall come forward and have an aggressive style, fans should therefore expect plenty of thrills and spills from this contest.

First-timer Justin Jones will face off against fellow debutant Richard Collins from Dudley. Jones, a former Welsh ABA champion, won 39 of his 52 amateur contests and won honours at every level. Collins, who represented the Priory Park club, emerged victorious in about 50% of his amateur contests.

Amateur records suggest that Jones is the more accomplished boxer but bouts involving two rookies are notoriously difficult to predict. Undoubtedly, both men will be looking to impress and they should therefore provide spectators with and action packed four rounds.

Liverpool’s Gary Davis tops the bill in a super-bantamweight contest against Jamil Hussain. Tunstall welterweight, Jimmy “The Whirlwind’ Doherty meets Chris Brophy of Swansea; Chester welterweight, Chris Goodwin is scheduled to fight the seasoned Kristian Laight and AA Lowe faces off against Oldham’s Barry Downs in another welterweight contest.

Tickets for the event are available form Impact Boxing on: 0845 156 7168
