By Boxing Press February 21st, 2007 All Press Releases

WBO super featherweight champion Joan Guzman is showing support for his brother, super featherweight Jose Guzman, as well as the promoter's concept to showcase Dominican Republic boxing prospects starting Saturday night in the first of the "Boxing At The Coliseum" series at the Carlos "Teo" Cruz Coliseum in Santo Domingo. The boxing card will be immediately followed by a concert featuring local performers.

Guzman, in association with promoter Joe Guzman (no relations) of Guzman Entertainment, are giving away 1,000 tickets in the Santo Domingo community to support his brother Jose (2-0, 1 KOs), who is in a four-round bout against an opponent to be named, in addition to expanding the Guzman legacy and boxing in their native Dominican Republic.

World-rated super featherweight Guadalupe "Bronco" Rosales (22-1, 13 KOs), reigning Mexican and Mundo Hispano champion, currently rated No. 4 by the World Boxing Council and No. 12 by the World Boxing Organization, fights Dominican native Elvis Martinez in the 10-round main event.

Guzman Entertainment, Inc. is presenting "Boxing At The Coliseum," in association with local promoters, in the 7,000-seat, two-leveled Carlos "Teo" Cruz Coliseum that has a theater-in-the-round design with no virtually poor viewing areas.

Undefeated Dominican junior welterweight Eury Gonzalez (13-0 (9 KOs) takes on Jhovanny Ascencio in the six-round co-feature. Also scheduled to fight in four-round matches is junior welterweight Anthony Lora (1-0) vs. Ramon Martinez (0-1. All bouts and fighters are subject to change.
