Barry Hearn’s Matchroom Sports, owned by Barry Hearn, and Boxnet Media Limited have teamed up to deliver a live web stream of the British Heavyweight Title Fight between defending champion Scott Gammer of Wales and former British and Commonwealth champion, Danny Williams, the man who so destructively ended Mike Tyson’s career.
Taking place in Neath, South Wales, the fight will be televised through normal broadcasters in the UK.
However, for the first time the event will be streamed through the internet for consumers worldwide to view on their PCs via a broadband connection. or set-top box with broadband connection.
This is a very exciting moment for boxing and the internet TV media, as those boxing fans around the world will now get the chance to view what could be a spectacular battle of the big men normally through broadcast media, but will now also get the chance on internet technologyTV.
Boxnet has entered into a partnership with digital services provider, MPS Broadband Ltd, to provide the web TV platform.
The service is open to all who subscribe for the event with an early bird ticket of $16.99 available, increasing to $19.99 on the day of the fight.
For this, subscribers have access to the title fight as well as the undercard featuring up-and-coming British talent.
The two hour show will be streamed at full screen quality to give viewers a true TV media experience through the web.
