The best bantamweight in the world, IBF/IBO 118-pound champion Marquez, will challenge the world's most talented fighter at 122, WBC super bantamweight titleholder Vazquez, in the eagerly awaited, highly anticipated main event Saturday on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING at The Home Depot Center in Carson.
Former IBF champion Victor Burgos and IBF/IBO flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan pose after the weigh-in. Darchinyan, who weighed 111 1/2 pounds, will defend his titles against Burgos, who tipped scales at 111, in Saturday's co-feature.
Tickets for the live event, priced at $25, $50, $75, $100, $150 and $200, are on sale at TicketMaster outlets and on-line at TicketMaster.com. They also may be purchased at The Home Depot Center box office on Fight Day starting at 10 a.m.
The live program will begin with preliminaries at 4 p.m. PT. Doors open at 3:30. Darchinyan-Burgos will go at 6 o’clock, followed by Vazquez-Marquez. The world title fights will be televised on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast.
The event is promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, LLC, and Romanza Productions, and Sycuan Ringside Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions.
