Luciano Perez Returns To Chicago On 8 Count Boxing Card

Chicago welterweight knockout artist Luciano “El Michicano” Perez will battle Ramiro Rivera at March Mayhem this Friday, March 16 at Cicero Stadium, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions.

A native of Mexico, Perez’s aggressive style and knockout power have made him a favorite amongst Chicago fans since his pro debut almost four year ago. His last bout was a Solo Boxeo televised war with highly regarded contender Jesus Soto Karass this past December in Houston, Texas.

In August of 2006, Perez won a decision over Francisco Rincon in an outstanding battle at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. He brings a record of 14-5-1 (12KO’s) into the battle with Rivera.

The heavy handed Rivera, 4-3 (3KO’s) is a native of Nicaragua, now fighting out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Said Pesoli, “I’m very happy to bring Luciano back. His fight with Rincon last summer was an outstanding battle that our fans loved. He’s a true Mexican warrior and has consistently earned the respect of our fans with his terrific fights in the ring.

The full March Mayhem card is as follows;

Mike Nevitt vs. Shawn Hammack, eight rounds, light heavyweights

Juan Carlos Martinez vs. Kenny Humphrey, eight rounds, super featherweights

Jeffrey Resto vs. Roberto Valenzuela, six rounds, welterweights

Luciano Perez vs. Ramiro Rivera, six rounds, welterweights

Leo Martinez vs. Reggie Sanders, six rounds, lightweights

Rita Figueroa vs. TBA, six rounds lightweights

Master of Ceremonies for this event will be nationally known ring announcer,

Thomas Treiber.

The weigh-in for March Mayhem will take place at 7pm on Thursday, March 15 at Club Aquarius, 2459 N. Pulaski on the northwest side of Chicago.

March Mayhem, another evening of world class professional boxing is presented by 8 Count Productions, Home Of The Best In Chicago Boxing along with TCF Bank and Miller Lite.

Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 7:00pm with the first bell at 8:00pm. Advanced tickets can be obtained by calling 312-226-5800.
