Quebec's light middleweight prospect Joachim Alcine will return to the ring in mid-February against Alex Bunema. The fight will be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Alcine's last fight provided the chief support to Interbox mainman and former world champion Eric Lucas's return to action. Alcine, who is of Haitian ancestry and handled by Howard Grant, knocked out former Canadian middleweight standout Stephane Ouellet with a powerful barrage pf punches in the very first round. Ouellet subsequently announced his retirement from boxing. Much is expected of Alcine and Bunema should provide a stern test for the young star in the making.
