At 2 pm this afternoon rivals Chris Edwards and Dale Robinson weighed in ahead of their clash for the vacant British and Commonwealth featherweight titles. The bout is scheduled to take place at 9 pm tomorrow evening at Altrincham Leisure Centre and will be televised by Sky Sports.
Both men made the 8 st weight limit with room to spare: Edwards tipped the scales at a fraction over 7 st 12 lbs and Robinson registered just under 7 st 13 lbs.
The two diminutive fighters exchanged glances but did not speak to each other preferring to let their fists do the talking tomorrow evening. Impact Boxing’s head coach Lindon Newbon did however speak to the press afterwards:
“Chris is well prepared and all that remains is for him to put into practice everything that we’ve worked on in the gym. He’s going to have a hard night’s work tomorrow but I am confident that he will emerge as the winner.”
Joint promoter, Frank Maloney as confirmed that a potential defence against Ian Napa awaits the victor of the title bout.
