World renowned trainer Nacho Beristain brings his latest charge, undefeated bantamweight prospect Abner Mares to Chicago this Friday night, April 20 in a world title showdown against veteran Angel Priolo at Cicero Stadium.
2007 has been a terrific year for Beristain, thought by many in boxing as amongst the finest trainers in the world. In March, the Marquez brothers, Rafael and Juan Manuel won world championships at junior featherweight and junior lightweight, respectively. Beristain also trained legendary Hall of Famers Ricardo Lopez and Daniel Zaragoza during their illustrious careers.
Said Pesoli, “Nacho is a terrific trainer, he’s been with the Marquez brothers their whole careers and they both are outstanding fighters and true warriors in the sport.
We’ve had Abner on our cards in the past and we’re thrilled to bring him back for our fans again. Having Nacho in his corner is a great move for his career.”
