Former Clwyd ABC teammates Justin “Ritchie’ Jones and Aaron Thomas will share the same bill when they appear at Impact Boxing’s next event, scheduled for 12th May at Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke.
Burslem based Light-heavyweight Jones, who drew last time out when making his pro debut, will step between the ropes to face Llanelli’s Adam Wilcox in what will be the South-Walean’s own professional debut.
Meanwhile Alsager based Thomas who has emerged victorious in his previous two professional encounters, is preparing to face the under-rated Surinder Sekhon from Barnsley.
Sekhon who’s record reads W 2 L 11 D1 has fought twice previously in Stoke. On his first visit he was narrowly beaten on points by Jimmy Doherty, making his debut on that occasion, on his second trip to the Potteries in February last year he upset the form books by securing a draw with the current English lightweight champion Scott Lawton. In addition to the shock result against Lawton, Sekhon has gone the distance with former British welterweight champion Young Mutley and prevailed in his last outing to secure a points win over Luke Galliar.
Thomas beat Martin Sweeny by means of a second round knockout in his first pro fight last September and went on to score a points victory over the experienced and tricky Ben Hudson in November.
Thomas should have enough to dispose of Sekhon but the Barnsley man is no pushover and is likely to provide Aaron with more than a few challenges.
Tickets for both bouts are available from Impact Boxing on 0845 156 7168 or by visiting www.impactboxing.com
