Emmett Linton beat Marcos Primera on Saturday night in a middleweight encounter held in Tacoma, Washington, USA. Linton edged out Primera with a unanimous ten round decision. Linton took the win and has improved his record to thirty-three wins, three losses with two draws.

Little Rock, Arkansas middleweight Jermain Taylor is rumored to be providing the chief support to Howard Eastman's challenge to Bernard Hopkins for the undisputed middleweight championship of the world. A concrete opponent for Taylor has yet to be confirmed.

Shane Mosley has not yet settled a date or an opponent for his return to boxing, but following his largely unsuccessful stint as a light middleweight, Mosley will be returning to action in the welterweight division this year.

In British news, hard-punching WBU light middleweight champion Wayne Alexander will probably make his return to the ring this year as an undercard support attraction to a Joe Calzaghe headliner in Manchester, England. No opponent has been confirmed for Alexander who will make his first appearance since knocking Takaloo cold last year.
