Silverhawk Boxing: Stevie Johnston vs. Humberto Toldeo May 18

By Boxing Press May 2nd, 2007 All Press Releases

WBC Latino & WBA FEDEBOL super featherweight champion Humberto "El Fuerte" Toledo is moving up one weight class to challenge IBA World lightweight title-holder Stevie "Lil' But Bad" Johnson on May 18, headlining "Rocky Mountain Mayhem: Return of the Champ" card, promoted by Silverhawk Championship Boxing, at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

Johnston (40-4-1, 18 KOs), who hasn't fought in his native Colorado in 61/2 years, takes on Toledo (31-3-2, 19 KOs), rated No. 16 by the WBC, in the 12-round main event. Toledo, from Ecuador, fought world-rated contender Humberto Soto (40-5-2) earlier this year.

"I want to impress the people in Denver and show them I'm better than ever," Johnston said. "I've never been in better shape, never felt better in my career. It doesn't matter who I'm fighting.

"I know Toledo is tough and he's coming to knock me out in my hometown, but it really doesn't matter because I'm going to put on a show and then, even though I never look past a fight, I want to put my title belt against (WBA/WBO Juan) Diaz's in a unification bout right here in Denver."

NBA light welterweight champion Adrian "Juanito" Mora (18-0-1, 10 KOs), of Thornton (CO), squares off against former NABO title challenger Marc Thompson (15-1, 12 KOs) in the 12-round co-feature for the vacant IBA light welterweight championship. Mora hails from nearby Thornton, Colorado.

Also scheduled to fight on the "Rocky Mountain Mayhem: Return of the Champ" card is heavyweight slugger Cedric "The Bos" Boswell (23-1, 18 KOs), as well as welterweight knockout specialist Salvador "Alexis" Camacho (14-0, 13 KOs), lightweight prospect Jaime "Superfly" Sandoval (14-1, 12 KOs) and Adrian Mora's brother, junior welterweight Anthony "The Matrix" Mora (15-1, 10 KOs). All fighters and bouts subject to change.

Tickets, priced at $25.00, $40.00, $60.00 and $100.00 (not including service charge), are on sale for "Rocky Mountain Mayhem: Return of the Champ" at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado. To purchase tickets call 303.410.8497 or go on line to www.broomfieldeventcenter.com.
