Former WBA welterweight world champion Ike Quartey will make his return to the ring tomorrow in Ghana against Clint McNeil. The fight is significant for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that it is Quartey's first fight in approximately five years and that he will now be campaigning as a middleweight. Quartey's only losses came against elite level competition in world title fights against Oscar de la Hoya, a fight in which many people thought Quartey did enough to win and a light middleweight bout against Fernando Vargas. The Vargas fight was Quartey's last but in his time, he also shared the ring with the likes of Jose Luis Lopez, Oba Carr and Vince Phillips. Stay tuned to saddoboxing.com for more news on Quartey's return to boxing.
