Puerto Rican super featherweight prospect Daniel Jimenez will battle veteran Angel Chacon on Friday, June 1 at Cicero Stadium in the ten round co-main event at "Test Of Courage", another evening of world class professional boxing, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions.
Said Pesoli, “I saw Jimenez beat Vicente Escobedo a year ago and Angel Recio at the end of last year. He’s a very skilled, entertaining fighter and someone that many boxing people tell me is a future champion.”
The twenty six year old Jimenez, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, is trained by Evangelista Cotto, uncle and trainer of world champion Miguel Cotto. He brings a record of 16-1-1 (10KO’s) and is undefeated since losing his pro debut in 2000.
In his last bout on December 8, 2006, Jimenez knocked out previously undefeated Angel Recio in the ninth round winning the WBO NABO Super Featherweight Title.
Chacon, 30-7-2 (15KO’s) is a former world title challenger whose career includes wins over John Michael Johnson and Emmanuel Lucero. Additionally, he has gone the distance with former world champion Oscar Larios.
"Test Of Courage" is headlined by a world class welterweight bout between former world title challenger Ben Tackie of Ghana and highly regarded prospect Freddy Hernandez of Mexico City.

The open to the public weigh-in for this event will take place on Thursday, May 31st at 7pm at Club Aquarius, 2459 N. Pulaski, on the northwest side of Chicago.
The Master of Ceremonies for this event will be the internationally recognized voiceof Latino boxing, Lupe Contreras.
"Test Of Courage" is presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, along with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions and TCF Bank.
