K2 Promotions announced today that it has won the purse bid for the European Championship between undefeated Russian star Zauerbek Baysangurov (15-0, 12 KO’s) and French standout Hussein Bayram (24-2, 13 KO’s) for the vacant European Super Welterweight title.
The Baysangurov/Bayram fight will be the co-feature for the IBF/IBO Heavyweight Championship of the world between Wladimir Klitschko and Lamon Brewster held July 7 in Cologne, Germany. Both fights will be seen internationally in over 100 countries.
The purse bid was held yesterday (Tuesday) at the EBU offices in Rome, Italy. K2 Promotions won the rights to promote the fight with a bid of 55,172 Euro, Sauerland Event bid 52,137, and Acaries bid 33,000 Euro.
Former world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko of K2 Promotions said: "We are happy to have won this bid and believe that this will be a great opportunity for these fighters to be showcased to the international media on our July 7th promotion."
