Contender Boxing Contestant Miguel Espino Set To Fight June 30

By Boxing Press May 24th, 2007 All Press Releases

Miguel Espino, who considers himself the real fighter from the "Contender" reality series is put to the test once again June 30th when he battles a fighter TBA at the Sylmar National Guard.

Espino, who's rapidly climbing up the ranks in the middleweight division, will attempt to extend on his 6 fight-winning streak. In his last conquest Miguel, was crowned WBC CABOFE champion, after he unanimously defeated the once beaten Sergey Stepkin of Russia.

Prior to that fight, Espino triumphed in dominating fashion against former Mexican Olympian Juadiel Zepeda. When asked about where he stands in the middleweight landscape, Epino stated, "I believe I can compete with the best fighters at 160. Now that I'm fighting ten-rounders, I feel more confident in my ability to dictate fights. I stay busy every round. Come June 30, you will see the same."

Trainer John Bray, who's guided the corner of Espino since 2000, mentioned, "Miguel is fighting real guys. We're not taking the easy road to the top. He's on a collision course with long time foe and rival Jermain Taylor and I believe we will be well prepared for the elite level." This bout is brought to you by Cota's Boxing Promotions.

Tickets priced at $50 can be purchased by calling 818-612-9296. Fist come first serve for all seating 3rd row and beyond. The Sylmar National Guard seats 500 and is located at 12860 Arroyo St. Sylmar, CA 91342. Purchase your tickets now as a sell out crowed is expected.
