Classy southpaw Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez will hopefully return to action for a longer period this year. The IBO light middleweight champion travelled to Spain to defeat Jorge Pina earlier this month, but his is a talent that deserves to be in more significant fights. Martinez capped off a successful tour of England with a TKO of Richard Williams in nine rounds last year, before that, he stopped Adrian Stone in the twelfth round and he holds another win over Williams. The only blight on Martinez's record is a stoppage loss to former WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito. We hope to bring you news on Martinez's latest opponent soon.
