Boxing Prospect Tavoris Cloud On A High After Strohl Knockout

By Boxing Press May 29th, 2007 All Press Releases

Fresh off a fishing trip in his native northern Florida, undefeated light heavyweight prospect Tavoris Cloud spoke about his move in the rankings to #15 in the IBF and #26 in the WBC.

The 25 year old Cloud’s record stands at 15-0 with fourteen knockouts after his brutal first round stoppage of Jim Strohl on May 11th in Chicago.

This was Cloud's fifth first round knockout as he continues to make his mark as one of the hottest
prospects in professional boxing.

“People have really taken notice after the Strohl knockout and that’s a good thing, but I’m looking to step up and test myself against the very best at 175” said the soft spoken Cloud.

“Next week is the IBF Convention so I’ll probably find out who and when I’m fighting, then it’s time to get back in camp.”

About specific opponents Cloud said, “I want to test myself with each fight, so I want to fight guys people consider better than me. Just tell me when and where and I’ll be ready.”

About the current state of his career, Cloud stated, “The easy part is the fighting. Training is the hard part, but once I get in the ring I’m ready to go. Right now, after the seven week camp I had before the Strohl fight I’m just doing my running and training here in Tallahassee at the Fighting Tigers Club where I’ve been going since 1998.”

Cloud is promoted by Chicago based 8 Count Productions. Said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, “Tavoris has looked tremendous and his knockout of Strohl was just devastating. We’re looking to make a great TV fight for his next bout and show the world his talents.”

The next action packed evening of world class professional boxing presented by 8 Count Productions, "Test Of Courage", takes place this Friday night, June 1 at Cicero Stadium. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 312-226-5800. For more information on this event please visit www.8countproductions.com
