By Boxing Press June 20th, 2007 All Press Releases

Spanish Harlem’s Edgar Santana (21-2, 13 KO’s) will square off against Harrison Cuello (12-5, 9 KO’s) in the 10 round junior welterweight main event on DiBella Entertainment’s Broadway Boxing Presented by FreeTheFan.Com at the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center tonight, Wednesday, June 20.

Jaidon Codrington (15-1, 11 KO’s) will face Carl Cockerham (12-13-3, 4 KO’s), a late replacement for Omar Sheika, in a six round super middleweight affair, and unbeaten super middleweight star James McGirt Jr., trained by his father Buddy McGirt, will also see action.

New York Golden Gloves welterweight champion Ronnie Vargas will make his pro debut, and Jose Varela, a stablemate of Miguel Cotto trained by Evangelista Cotto, are also on the card.

Santana, the Puerto Rican standout who has become a fixture on Broadway Boxing, has reeled off 16 consecutive victories, including 14 in a row in New York.

McGirt, Jr (15-0, 8 KO’s) puts his unbeaten pro streak on the line when he takes on Delray Raines (9-2, 5 KO’s) in a battle of super middleweights scheduled for eight rounds.

Varela (20-2, 13 KO’s), a native of San Juan, PR, will battle Thomas Davis (11-4-2, 7 KO’s) of Knoxville, TN in a junior middleweight eight-rounder.

The highly touted Vargas, fighting out of the Bronx, makes his pro debut in a four round welterweight contest against Richard Turner (0-1) of Warren, OH.
