Green Machine Promotions have pleasure in announcing an IBO light heavyweight world title elimination bout between our own Danny Green and the USA's Otis Griffin. The bout will also be a defense of Danny's IBF Pan Pacific and WBA PABA regional titles. The bout has also be sanctioned for the vacant IBF Intercontinental title, so there is plenty at stake.
In what promises to be one of his toughest bouts yet, Green 23-3 (21 KO's) tackles the highly rated Griffin 18-1-2 (7 KO's). Griffin was the winner of Oscar de la Hoya's reality TV boxing series "The Next Great Champ", rival to Sylvester Stallone's, "The Contender", where he picked $500,000 USD for his victory! Griffin is also the current North American Boxing Organization champion.
Green is currently the IBF #5, WBA #7, WBC #6, WBO #10 and IBO #14, while Griffin is the WBC #16, IBF #15 and WBO #14. The universally recognized electronic boxing ratings website, Boxrec.com, has the fight evenly matched with Green at #10 and Griffin at #14.
Green's move to light heavyweight has proven to be a successful one with wins over fellow Australians and world ranked opponents in Jason Delisle and Paul Murdoch during the past 6 months.
This is a fight not to be missed as two of the world's premier light heavyweight fighters go toe to toe for the opportunity to fight for the IBO world title! Both are devastating
punchers with significant experience!
The card will also feature local fighters such as William Kickett, in an Australian super feather title clash with Mohammed Elomar, light welterweights Adam and Steve Wills and Robbie Bryant vs Andreas Seran in a middleweight contest.
