Risum Boxing And Fight Production signs Shalva And Levan Jomardashvili

Risum Boxing and Fight Production, headed by Henrik Risum and Olaf Schroeder, today announced the signings of undefeated Georgian brothers Shalva and Levan Jomardashvili. 20-year-old Shalva, a middleweight and the reigning Georgian champion, has so far compiled a very impressive record of 23-0 (16), while his younger sibling, light heavyweight Levan, is already 16-0 (13) at just eighteen years of age.

In the amateurs Shalva was a five-time Georgian national champion and went 75-3, and Levan compiled an excellent 57-2 record on the way to capturing four national championships.

Negotiations have been ongoing for the better part of three months, and it was a delighted Risum who put his signature on the contracts along with Schroeder, the brothers and the Georgian Boxing Group who have so far handled “The Jomar Bros”:

“After having seen several fights of these boys, I have no doubt that they have the potential to go a very long way in boxing, and we want to thank Shalva, Levan and GBG for their cooperation in hammering out this deal. We look forward to working together with them, and to watch the progress of the brothers over the coming years,” says Risum.

The immediate plan for the Jomardashvili’s is to give them more international experience with training-camps and fights outside Georgia. Risum makes it clear though, that especially young Levan needs time to develop further before being tested, saying:

“At just eighteen, he has so many years in front of him, so we are absolutely in no hurry to push him too fast. But Shalva can hang with the best in Europe already now, I am sure of this, and in a year or two he could very well be one of the best prospects in the world. It’s going to be an exiting time for us all, and for Georgian professional boxing.”

Fight Production boss Schroeder adds: “I am confident that the boxing world will take notice very soon, and I believe we can provide some excellent opportunities for them to improve and move up the ladder of professional boxing. Even if they have only boxed in Georgia so far, they have both shown great potential in beating some very capable opponents, so the future looks bright for them.”

Schroeder and Risum also reveals that, besides the signing of the Jomar Bros, their companies have also acquired exclusive agent rights to more than thirty boxers contracted to the Georgian Boxing Group, including 2000 Olympic heavyweight bronze medallist Vladimer Chanturia.
