Ashley "Treasure" Theophane, GBC Welterweight Champion and No.1 Contender For the British & English Titles, has been sparring two time WBO World Champion Joan Guzman at Gleasons Gym in New York over the past week.
Joan Guzman, nicknamed "Little Tyson" for his looks and body stature, is due to fight the winner of Alex Arthur and Koba Gogoladze or step up to lightweight to fight Michael Katsidis, who blew away ex-British and Commonwealth Champion Graham Earl, for the WBO World Lightweight Title.
The man known as Little Tyson is keeping fit at Gleasons until he goes Las Vegas for camp.
Ashley is getting valuable experience sharing a ring with a mutlitalented fighter like Joan Guzman and can only benefit. Ashley is back training with Lennox Blackmoore, who was Commonwealth Champion and who fought a world title Fight against the great Aaron Pryor.
Theophane is due to fight on a Goosen Tutor Card in his family's homeland of St.Lucia on November 16th.
Ashley regularly spars with Commonwealth Champion Ajose Olusegun and is looking to follow in his footsteps and win a major title.
Ashley, who won a British Title Eliminator against Alan Bosworth, was overlooked by ex-British Champ Barry Morrison, who lost to now European and British Champ Colin Lynes.
Ashley will come back to the UK a better fighter but with fights with Lenny Daws and Barry Morrison falling through, who will Ashley fight to prove his talent against? Ashley has his eye on European and British Champion Colin Lynes.
