Eric “The Outlaw” Hunter Vs. Tyrell Samuel

By Boxing Press July 28th, 2007 All Press Releases

Joe Deguardia’s Star Boxing in association with the Atlanta KO Kings today announced an opponent change for the spectacular Friday, August 3 “Crossroads Collision” featherweight co-main event from Atlanta, GA, live broadcast on Showtime boxing series ShoBox: The Next Generation.

Eric “The Outlaw” Hunter (7-1, 3KO’s) will now be going up against Baltimore native Tyrell Samuel (9-1 5KO’s) scheduled for 8rds. Hunter was originally matched up with Mexico City’s Joel Santiago (8-0, 2KO’s) who suffered a training camp injury and is unavailable for the fight

“Eric Hunter is a multifaceted boxer with a boundless potential.” stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing. “With every performance he continues to improve and impress”.

Hunter, a Philadelphia native, is a former Jr. Olympic champion and an alternate on the 2004 United States Olympic Team. As an amateur, Hunter faced the nation’s top talent and compiled 159 wins against just 4 losses.

Hunter gained media attention when he was called as the “opponent” on January 25 against veteran Pasquel Rousse. (This bout was featured on Star Boxing’s “Punchin’ at the Paradise 2” in the Bronx, NY). Hunter befuddled Rouse with wicked speed en-route to a 6-round unanimous decision.

Tickets go on sale and can be purchased at: http://www.ticketalternative.com or by calling 1-877-725-8849. Tickets are priced at $35, $50, $100 and $125 for Ringside w/ table seating. A table of 8 is $1000.

The “ShoBox” telecast will air live at 11 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast).

The Far West Rodeo is located at 6616 New Peachtree Road - Doraville, Georgia. Doors open at 6:45 pm and the first fight starts at 7:15 pm.
