Former WBO Heavyweight champion, Shannon "The Cannon" Briggs says he's ready to step back in the ring and is targeting Wladimir Klitschko.
The Brooklyn native mentioned, "Nobody can beat a healthy Shannon Briggs. Pneumonia prevented me from performing up to my ability. I just want a chance to show the world that I'm worthy. I want Klitschko in the Garden." The former champ will begin training in October and plans to have two more fights by the years end.
Briggs, who's had roles in Hollywood (Transporter 2), (Bad Boys 2), makes his "Broadway" debut in August, as he's just finished shooting a movie called "Whackness" starring Ben Kingsley.
A happy Briggs said "I love acting in movies. I belive I was born for the big screen. Anyone who know's me, knows I'm a movie fanatic. So to me, its a dream come true to be in the movie industry." With another role in a movie coming up, Briggs plans to extend his acting career after he's finished with boxing.
