Former head of HBO boxing and current independent promoter Lou DiBella was scathing about his fighter Jose Navarro's loss in a WBC title fight in Japan at the beginning of this month. Navarro lost a disputed decision to Japan's Katsushige Kawashima, it was Navarro's first loss. The decision was all the more controversial as one judge scored the fight overwhelmingly for Navarro while the other two went for Kawashima. The majority of observers are agreed on the fact that Navarro's excellent technical boxing style did enough to win the fight and in fact, the Japanese champion was severely cut and facially damaged. DiBella is set to take his protest all the way to the WBC board of governors after a review commitee has viewed the fight and offered their opinions to the board. We will keep you updated to the staus of this appeal.
