It will happen. Ronald "Winky" Wright will move up to the middleweight division to face former multi-weight world champion Felix "Tito" Trinidad in May of this year. Wright's remonstrations about his truncated purse offer from promoter Don King was the main stumbling block in the fight not being announced sooner. However, Wright has been appeased enough to sign for the fight and he will face Trinidad possibly in New York but the chance of the fight taking place in Las Vegas has not been ruled out. Wright, if successful will likely fight Bernard Hopkins possibly by the end of this year. Wright really has nothing to lose as since becoming the undisputed world light middleweight champion, each sanctioning body has either stripped him of their title or threatened to strip him of their title. We will keep you updated to developments in this story.
