Star Boxing: Vinny Maddalone Returns To Action October 18

By Boxing Press September 25th, 2007 All Press Releases

Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing today announced a spectacular fight card coming Thursday, October 18 to The Grand Ballroom at The Manhattan Center, NYC.

The main event features Vinny Maddalone, 27-4, (19KO's), returning to the ring after losing a bloody battle against legendary former Heavyweight Champion Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 13, 2007.

Maddalone fought like the tough New Yorker that he is, but, it was not enough to bring down the former champion, after suffering a cut on his forehead after a ferocious clash of heads ruled accidental by referee Ruben Carrion.

Maddalone could not see due to the massive cut and at the behest of his trainer Al Certo, the referee stopped the fight 2:48 minutes into the third round, even though Maddalone wanted to continue. The Holyfield fight brought his "loss" record to 4 out of his phenomenal 31-fight career.

He may have lost the fight but gained the respect from naysayers around the boxing world. Maddalone is the epitome of hard work, professionalism and dedication.

This is why on October 18 he will come out and show his fans that he still has what it takes to get back into the top tier of the heavyweight division.

"I am very excited about getting back into the ring after almost a 7 month lay off, I will not disappointed my fans, these are the people who have followed my career no matter what the outcome of the fight and they have been with me, I owe them," said Maddalone.

"The fans love Vinny Maddalone. He is always in exciting fights and watching Vinny fight brings back thoughts of the glory days of boxing---blood, guts and heart. I urge fans to get their tickets right away--- and come and watch this proud warrior," said Joe DeGuardia.

Tickets are fan friendly priced at $100 Ringside, $50 and $30 General Admission and are available at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (212) 307-7171 and at all other Ticketmaster outlets. Additionally, tickets can be purchased directly from Star Boxing call (718) 823-2000 or visit http://www.starboxing.com.
