WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wongjongkam defeated his latest challenger, Noriyuki Komatsu in Japan by a stoppage in the fifth round. The champion showed much of his impressive arsenal in making his latest defense, dropping the challenger on several occasions and cutting him with his sharp and powerful punches. Komatsu had no answer to the champion's onslaught and fell to his second defeat. Wongjongkam gathered his fifty-fifth win and sent out a warning message to any and all challengers that he intends to be the WBC flyweight champion for some time to come.
