On Tuesday once the media questioning at the MGM arena had ended, Saddoboxing was fortunate to go along and watch Ricky train at his base in Las Vegas.

The gym, though small - had everything Team Hatton needed and it was clear that they definitely ‘felt at home’ there. A floor-level ‘ring’ and numerous work-out machines along with friendly welcoming hosts - made for a great work-place.

Ricky spent time training in the ring with Billy and the ‘other’ regular training partner - the black body-belt that Billy wears! Fast and aggressive - he punched away at the ‘belt’ sometimes forcing Billy back against the ropes.

Then he set to work on the punch-bags. Music blared in the gym - ‘Lets have a bit of Rod Stewart for Matt’ - Rick quipped, and sure enough - ‘Baby Jane’ echoed round the room (must have chosen that one for me!!) It wasn’t long though before Rick had changed it to ‘The Smiths’ ( I was delighted to share the same fave music with the Hitman! And I’m embarrassed to say I sang along to a couple of songs!).

While Rick pounded away at the punch-bags, brother Matthew trained in the ring. He looked focused and determined - listening to instruction - sometimes taking advice from big brother Rick who shot a glance across from time to time.

Mathew Macklin spent his time on the treadmill and was still running over an hour later! Wearing his ipod - he ran at a consistent pace.

Rick finished off his session with some power-skipping. He continues to look relaxed and happy - probably fuelled by the great crowd-response earlier today at the MGM.

It’s the World Rodeo Championships at the Thomas and Mack Centre this week so Vegas is home to a multitude of Cowboys and Country Music Stars - but I guess they will go unnoticed when the swarms of British ‘ Hatton’ Fans descend on the City later this week.

Get ready for Hatton-Mania!
