Last night at the Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, local hero Allan Green boxed his way to a ten round decision over ex-world title challenger Rubin Williams and lightweight contender Zahir Raheem scored a first round KO in his bout with Ricardo Dominquez.
Green, 26-1 (18), worked behind a superb jab to win his third consecutive bout since dropping a decision to Edison Miranda last year. Williams, 29-3-1 (16), was unable to overcome the two inch height advantage held by Green and lacked the ability to get inside on the Tulsa native.
Although he canvassed Williams in the ninth frame, Green was unable to finish the Detroit man off but joined Jeff Lacy and Epifiano Mendoza as the only fighters to defeat “Mr. Hollywood”.
Relocated Philadelphian Raheem, 29-2 (17), picked up his best win since drubbing Eric Morales two years ago by absolutely scorching Tucson’s Dominquez, 23-3 (15), with a two handed assault in the first. The shelling culminated in a full blooded left hook that downed Dominquez at 1:18 of the inital session.
