Lucky Eagle Boxing: Fight Night #58

By Boxing Press February 7th, 2008 All Press Releases

The Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, WA features heavyweight action for Fight Night #58, taking place this Saturday, February 9.

The Northwest Boxing Association Heavyweight Championship belt is on the line for Eric “Night Train” Boose, who hails from Puyallup, WA with a twelve win two loss record.

The 27 year old Boose, a former Boise State football player, will face John Wesley Clark who has 12 wins, 7 by knockout. Boose lost on a disputed TKO vs. Jonathan Williams at the Lucky Eagle in October. The winner of this bout is scheduled to face Williams in June.

Both heavyweights are noted for heavy punches, lots of action, and as promoter Bennie Georgino noted that “this will be a war, because both of these monsters hit like the kick of a mule”.

Georgino added that Boose is on track to compete for the Heavyweight World Championship if he continues to improve. Clark hails from Huntington Beach, CA.

Dewey Welliver, from Snoqualmie, WA and brother of Chauncy, will face Billings, MT native Ben Aragon in a six round semi-main event. Welliver has 18 wins and is always a fan favorite.

In a four round bout, heavyweights Vili “The Tongan Warrior” Bloomfield of Everett, WA, will fight Leo Berciere who hails from Great Falls, MT.

Information on the remaining bouts will be available shortly.

Other bouts four rounds:
Lyle “El Lobo” Johnson vs. Luis “El Lobo” Lopez
Jacob Ruffin vs. Dustin Neely
Corey McFarland vs. Merlin LaDue

Changes and additional information will be announced as they occur.

Tickets $45, $35, $25 at Ticketmaster, casino (800-720-1788) or Twin Cities Fuller’s stores. Fighters are subject to change and contract approval by the Washington State Boxing Commission.
