As previously announced, Glenn "The Filipino Bomber" Donaire, 16-3-1 (9), will be returning to the ring in Reno, NV on February 22. Donaire will be facing a former foe in Brazilian Olympian, Jose Albuquerque, 8-2-1 (2). This bout is being billed as the co-main event under the Jesse Brinkley/Otis Griffin super-middleweight USNBC championship contest.
Donaire and Albuquerque first met on March 3 2006 in Santa Ynez, CA in a six round contest that concluded in a draw. In Reno, the rematch between these two masterful boxers will be scheduled for eight rounds.
Albuquerque now resides in Los Angeles, CA. Since the Donaire fight, he has fought three times, winning two. This flyweight contest will is certain to be a display of boxing skill and the winner could easily be looking at a world title shot soon.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling the Silver Legacy box office 800 687 8733. Prices are $30, $75, and $150. Doors will open at 6, first bout at 7. Under-card information will be announced shortly. All bouts are subject to change.
