IBF # 4 Robert Stiegltiz, 32-1, and IBF # 5 Librado Andrade, 27-1, will fight an eliminator for the # 1 spot in the IBF Super Middle ratings. Stieglitz, based in Germany and signed with SES, was originally all set to take on Ukrainian Vitaly Tsykpko but he withdrew with a nose injury. The fight goes to purse bids with a deadline at noon February 19.
Former WBA Middle Champ Mariano "Adrenalina" Carrera will fight Armenian - based in Germany - Khoren Gevor April 5 in Duesseldorf in a supporting bout to Felix Sturm“s defence of the WBA Middleweight title against Jamie Pittman. Both Carrera, a recent loser to Javier Castillejo and Gevor, who lost to IBF ruler Arthur Abraham, needs a win badly.
Hard punching Argentinian junior welter Marco Maidana may face Mexican Arturo Morua April 19, also in Germany. Maidana is signed to Spotlight Boxing. The date is not confirmed.
Pullouts: Italian junior welter Giorgio Marinelli is out of the fight March 8 in Rome against Brunet Zamora. French bantam Franck Gorjux has pulled out of the bout vs Jerome Arnould March 8 in Metz.
