Risum Boxing: The Return Of Alan Vester

By Boxing Press February 20th, 2008 All Press Releases

Former IBF world title-challenger Allan Vester and charismatic super middleweight contender Fawaz Nasir will headline a card in their hometown of Aarhus, Denmark on April 4, when Team Vester, in cooperation with Risum Boxing, promotes at the NRGI Arena.

Opponents for Vester and Nasir, as well as the undercard, are in the works, but the promotion will also include kickboxing, amateur boxing and appearances by some of Denmark’s leading rap-performers.

A fight-and-music-concept never seen before in the Scandinavian country. A concept created to attract new fans to a sport that some claim needs a breath of fresh air.

Vester, 26-6-1, who last fought this past September where he beat former world-rated Austrian Gotthard Hinteregger, will tune up for the Aarhus-fight in Sweden on March 27. If he comes out victorious from both bouts, the 30-year-old stylist will be aiming to get in line to fight for the IBF Intercontinental welterweight title, a crown he twice held at light welterweight.

Fawaz Nasir, 12-2 with one No-Contest, is coming off an explosive knockout-victory on February 9, when he cut down durable Latvian Sandris Tomson in two rounds. On April 4 he will box in his hometown for the first time in more than five and a half years, and will obviously be looking to impress in front of the local pundits.

In 2007 Nasir came up just short in two title fights in Germany against two of Europe’s best, Sebastian Zbik and Lukas Wilaschek, and he is hoping 2008 will be the year where he finally makes his definite breakthrough.

Additional featured bouts for the show will be announced in the coming weeks.
