Boxing In New York: Forman vs. Roman April 3 In Brooklyn

By Boxing Press March 19th, 2008 All Press Releases

Top Rank, Final Forum Boxing and Aviator Sports present "Fists a Flying" on Thursday April 3, 2008 at Aviator Sports in Brooklyn NY.

"From the minute the bell rings non-stop action!" said Final Forum's Sal Musumeci. "People will be thrilled with the bouts and it's all through the combined efforts of the wonderful people at Top Rank Incorporated and Aviator Sports."

Brooklyn's own Yuri Foreman, 24-0 (8), takes on Saul Roman, 28-4 (24), for the NABF Junior Middleweight Championship.

"Top Rank is one of the premiere boxing promotion companies in the world," said Musumeci. "So it makes sense that we have a world class main event like this. Foreman vs, Roman will be an incredible fight!"

The event is being held at Aviator Sports in Brooklyn. "This is a class facility," said Musumeci. "I can't emphasize enough how grateful I am to have worked with the great people here at Aviator Sports. I truly believe this is the beginning of great events to come."

Also on the card, Joshua Clottey, 33-2 (19), takes on Jose Luis Cruz, 34-3 (27), in a welterweight contest.

"This could be a Main Event on any card," said Musumeci. "We are thrilled to bring exciting boxing back to Brooklyn!"

Also making their pro debuts will be Chris Algieri and Anthony Lenk.

Tickets are $40,$100 and $150. Doors open at 6:30pm with first bout scheduled for 7:30pm.

For information and directions go to www.aviatorsports.com.

New York State Heavyweight Champ Derric Rossy will be there to meet and mingle with fans. Rossy will be making his first live appearance since beating Ray Mercer in China. He is currently ranked number 9 in the world by the WBO.
