The North American Boxing Federation has granted the Tachi Palace’s Christian Printup with its annual Women’s Boxing Promoter of the Year award for his excellence in female boxing. This marks the second consecutive year where Printup was the successor. “I humbly accept this award on behalf of all my staff and co-workers who help make the Tachi Palace a wonderful venue for boxing,” said Printup.
NABF Fighter of the Year went to the Tachi Palace’s Jessica Rakoczy, 28-3 (10), who calls the venue her home away from home. Rakoczy is coming off a victory against Belinda Laracuente whom she beat by unanimous decision. “I’m excited about winning this award, said Jessica Rakoczy. “My goal is to get the WBC lightweight title back in my possession.”
Fight of the Year honors went to Terri Blair and Jill Emery who slugged it out at the Tachi Palace in one of the most exiting women’s bouts to happen in Lemoore. Blair was victorious as she edged out a split decision. “That bout between Blair and Emery was a match up of contrast styles which made for a very entertaining fight,” said Printup. “Slugger versus boxer, it could have gone either way. I’m hoping to get them back for the rematch.
