Undefeated cruiserweight sensation BJ Flores will be the in-studio guest on Friday Night Fights this week. Airing on ESPN 2 with host Brian Kenny this Friday night, April 4, Flores will offer analysis, insight and perspective on the televised portion of the card including the main event featuring heavyweight prospect Jason Estrada vs. Lance Whitaker.
After just defeating knockout artist Darnell Wilson on Friday Night Fights in February, Flores was quickly invited back to ESPN2 to be a guest host, and was also offered another tentative main event fight on Wednesday Night Fights scheduled for May 7. "It's something I have looked forward to my entire boxing career and I am very happy to have the opportunity," said Flores of his guest host slot. "I will certainly make the most of it."
With all of this activity, Flores still made it a point to call out the former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli. Flores has been quoted as saying, "Frank Warren claims that Enzo will not have an easy comeback fight. Well, I am the perfect opponent. I am undefeated. I am ranked by three sanctioning bodies and will legitimize Enzo's comeback, but I understand why they have cold feet."
Promotional free agent Flores is currently 21-0 with 13 knockouts as a professional. The three time national amateur champion is currently ranked #2 by the IBF, #7 by the WBO, and #11 by the WBA and is willing to take on any of the cruiserweight champions and/or contenders. With no binding contract with any specific promoter, the Flores camp feels that the talent laden division offers many opportunities for exciting and challenging fights.
