Mick "Pony" Shaw is ready to step it up a few notches should he be victorious over Ranee Ganoy this Friday night at the Broncos Leagues Club in their Pacific Lightweight Title bout. Shaw currently ranked among the top Lightweights in Australia realises each fight he takes from now on will need to be against quality world ranked opposition. There are also some great match ups available to Shaw here in Australia in the lightweight ranks. Shaw beat current Australian Champion Allan Luxford last October and would dearly love to take the title away from him this year.
Shaw's opponent Ranee Ganoy comes to Brisbane with 29 fights experience, he possesses incredible KO power with all of his 22 wins coming by way of knock out. He dismantled the Australian No. 7 lightweight Jungstar Min in just 24 seconds late last year. He recently took Ben Cruz the distance and went up in weight to fight Noefel Ben Rabah.
Kina Malpartida will be hoping her Brisbane debut is a successful one when she takes on Melbourne fighter Mirelle Walford. Kina formerly from Peru now lives on the Gold Coast and has 4 wins from as many starts. Walford is making her professional debut and comes with kick boxing and also amateur boxing experience winning 3 of 5 in each discipline. Malpartida has plans to fight overseas towards the middle of the year and needs to keep winning to fulfil that dream.
In the third pro fight of the evening Matt Striker Shaw will go 6 rounds against Fabrice Hona.
5 amateur fights will fill out the night's entertainment along with a crowd boxing challenge and a lingerie pillow fight!
Top amateurs include, 3 times Australian Champion Trent Broadhurst, Fred Capes, Kane Cassells, Rebecca Laurie, Jodie Lee, Dwayne Lally, Sam Leone, Chance Hepi plus more.
