Olympic sensation and eighteen year old boxing wonderkid Amir Khan is making his transition into the senior amateaur boxing programme in the United Kingdom. Khan has also moved up in weight from the lightweight class, the weight in which he enjoyed his olympic success, to the light welterweight division. Khan has found some rough moments during some of his fights at the
new weight, even having to come back after being knocked down, but his undeniable skill remains intact and is enough to see him through to victory. Khan's Olympic silver medal win in the 2004 games was an incredible achievement for the young man who was the U.K.'s only representative in the noble art. The British fight game watches his amateur exploits with interest and waits to see if Khan can be tempted into turning professional, a move that would virtually assure him a comfortable financial future.
We will keep you updated on Khan's progress.
