Hennessy Boxing: Wayne Elcock Off British Title Showdown With Darren McDermott

By Boxing Press April 16th, 2008 All Press Releases

Hennessy Sports in association with GoldenPalace.com today regrettably announce Wayne Elcock has had to withdraw from his British Middleweight Title defence against Darren McDermott due to a severe chest infection.

Birmingham's former world title challenger and current British Champion Wayne Elcock was due to take on Dudley's undefeated Darren McDermott in a much anticipated Midlands derby at the Aston Events Centre on Friday, 25th April as top of the bill of a Hennessy Sports show.

But the fight has had to be postponed due to Wayne Elcock's illness and a new date and venue for the show will be announced as soon as possible by Hennessy Sports.

Wayne Elcock said:

“I am totally gutted to be out of this fight as until now training was going to plan and I felt absolutely fantastic. After the disappointment of my last fight against Arthur Abraham I wanted to put on a dazzling display for my fans and I was more than confident that I would retain my British Middleweight Title, now I have to wait for my chance in the coming months”.

All ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets until further notice.
