Boxing Result: Juan Urango Vs Carlos Wilfredo Vilches

By Boxing Press April 25th, 2008 All Press Releases

It was the most emphatic statement Juan Urango could have possibly made to the junior welterweight division, and after his devastating fourth round knockout of Carlos Wilfredo Vilches Wednesday night at Hard Rock Live, “Iron Twin” made it abundantly clear that he is ready to once again reign over the 140-pound weight class.

“I’m happy with my victory and I can’t wait for the opportunity to win a world title again,” said the soft-spoken Urango, who is now the leading contender for Paul Malignaggi’s IBF junior welterweight crown. “My training for this fight was better than ever and the results proved that. I’ll be even better for my title fight.”

What was expected to be a war of attrition between the young gun and the seasoned veteran Wednesday night instead turned into a highlight reel for the devastating power of Urango, who sent Vilches to the canvas in the first round before lowering the boom in round four with a right to the jaw that already has fight fans calling it the Knockout of The Year.

“I don’t look for the knockout, but I feel that whoever I hit, I can knock out,” said Urango, who improved to 20-1-1 with 16 KOs.

Seminole Warriors Boxing would also like to congratulate all the other fighters on its roster who made Wednesday’s card live up to its billing as “Knockout Kings”. Victorious in spectacular fashion at Hard Rock Live where rising middleweight star “Mean” Joe Greene (TKO 9 Joshua Okine), Wilmer Vazquez (TKO3 Rodney Wallace), and Kenny Galarza (TKO3 Amaury Torres).
