On Wednesday, June 11th, Latimore will look for victory number 19 against the top-ranked junior middleweight in the world, Sechew Powell, and he’s ready for the challenge. “Chances like this don't come along very often and I plan to show the New York crowd that I am worthy of this fight,” said Latimore. “I recognize that Sechew Powell is a great fighter whose record speaks for itself, and he has earned his number one ranking. But the junior middleweight division is packed with some very talented fighters and I’m out to prove that I’m one of them.” A pro for just over two years, Latimore has been on the fast track, literally, winning 13 of his bouts in three rounds or less.
