The following is a final tally of all of the boxing action that took place in America on Friday night.
Firstly, in an important light heavyweight contest, Eric Harding took a twelve-round decision win over fellow contender David Telesco.
Women's champion Laila Ali remained unbeaten and gathered here twentieth win by stopping Cassandra Geigger in the eighth round.
In a featherweight contest, Hector Velazquez was victorious over Marcos Licona via sixth round technical decision. Licona was ruled unable to continue due to a cut that was the result of a head-butt.
Finally, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wasted no time in earning his sixteenth win in a row by knocking out Leroy Newton in the first round.
