Philadelphia’s promising middleweight prospect Jamaal "Da Truth" Davis, 7-3-0 (6), returns to the ring against Richard Pierson, 7-1-0 (4), from Paterson, New Jersey on Wednesday, June 11 at the Gotham Boxing Promotions/Seminole Warriors Boxing/Bad Dog Productions co-promoted event at The Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, New York City.
This will be Davis' first time back in the ring since the tragic loss of his young bride, Patrilla, just before Christmas last year and as such, Jamaal is dedicating this fight to her memory.
The quietly spoken 27 year old denies that his wife’s illness throughout last year was a factor in him losing both his ‘07 fights, but is quick to say that he is determined to return to winning ways, starting with this fight, for the ‘love of his life’ - Patrilla.
Headlining the ESPN2 televised event will be the light middleweight uber-battle between Brooklyn, New York’s Sechew ‘Iron Horse’ Powell, 23-1-0 (14), and Deandre ‘The Bull’ Latimore, 18-1-0 (15), from St Louis, Missouri.
For tickets call (212) 755-1944, (954) 985-1155 or (305) 265-1437
