This past Friday at the Morongo Resort and Casino, in Cabazon, CA, Golden Boy Promotions undefeated young gun, Juan Carlos Velasquez, improved to, 8-0 (4), with another impressive victory.
The Puerto Rican native decisively defeated Missael Nunez, 4-7-2 (0), enroute to a unanimous decision and continued his undefeated record. Score cards read 60-54 twice, while the other judge had it 59-55.
Velasquez keep his winning streak alive and is scheduled for a return to the Morongo Casino on July 23, 2008. Twin brother Carlos Ivan Velasquez, 7-0 (6), makes his way back to the ring the same night, looking to extend on a seven fight winning streak. Opponents to be announce shortly.
"I got some good rounds against Nunez," said Juan Carlos. "Each fight I'm learning something new. These are the type of fights I need to prepare me for the next level. My goal is to get right back in the gym and start working hard. I want to be a world champion some day."
