Frank Maloney, former manager of once undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has made statements to the British press denouncing Vitali Klitschko's claims that Lewis ran scared of a rematch with him. Maloney, once at the centre of all things Lewis, an influence that |
faded with time, came to his former fighter's defense in light of criticisms thrown around by Klitschko. The current WBC champion, Klitschko has spent much of his time as champion calling for Lewis to return to action and resume their battle of 2003, one which ended in favor of Lewis when Klitschko was stopped on some of the most ghastly cut damage ever seen in the ring. Klitschko claims that Lewis is scared but Maloney insists that Lewis has done the right thing by staying retired and that Klitschko should turn his attention to the business of addressing his own legacy in world boxing.
