It was all smiles yesterday as Hennessy Sports hosted the official weigh-in ahead of tonight's clash between fellow Mancunians (and mates!) John Murray and Lee Meager.
In an aptly named 'Strictly Business' fightnight, Meager and Murray will slug it out for the vacant British Lightweight title at Robin Park Arena in Wigan, England. Both boxers weighed in with no problem and were clearly enjoying some laughs as they posed for cameras at the casino Manchester 235.
Also weighing in was Martin Gethin of Walsall. Gethin looked cool and relaxed as he took to the scales under the watchful eye of trainer Errol Johnson. Gethin, who was supposed to fight John Baguley, will now face Bradford's Nadeem Siddique in an eight round light welterweight contest.
It was a rather 'quiet' Siddique who took to the scales, but both men looked in great shape. Gethin said he was looking forward to the fight and eager to get 'stuck in'. He has been training hard at the Wednesbury Boxing Academy in the West Midlands.
Steve 'Bomber' Saville, who was to fight Nadeem Siddique - will now be facing Scotland's Mark Bett, in an eight round light welterweight contest. Both men will weigh-in today.
